Our outdoor lighting has been crafted using traditional methods and high-quality materials since 1983.

Many of our products are made using cast iron and steel. Molten iron is poured into carefully prepared moulds to form strong, durable components designed to withstand decades of outdoor use.

At Harte Outdoor Lighting Limited, we are proud of the quality and workmanship of our products.

That is why we provide a Lifetime Structural Guarantee on the cast iron and steel components of our outdoor lighting.

For the lifetime of the product while it remains in service, we guarantee that, under normal conditions of use, the cast iron and steel structural components will not crack, bend or break as a result of a defect in the material or our workmanship.

We also guarantee that our products will be free from defects in materials and workmanship at the time they leave our workshop.

What is covered

The Lifetime Structural Guarantee applies to the cast iron and steel components of Harte Outdoor Lighting products, provided that:

• the product has been installed above ground and in accordance with applicable installation requirements and recognised industry standards;

• the product has been used for its intended purpose and under normal conditions;

• the relevant components have not been damaged by misuse, accident, impact or inappropriate treatment; and

• the product has been reasonably maintained.

For the purposes of this guarantee, “lifetime” means the period during which the original Harte Outdoor Lighting product remains installed and in service.

What is not covered

The Lifetime Structural Guarantee does not cover:

• electrical components, lamps, wiring, control equipment or other electrical accessories;

• components manufactured from copper, aluminium or other metals unless expressly stated otherwise;

• cosmetic changes or deterioration that do not affect the structural integrity of the cast iron or steel;

• normal weathering, ageing, discolouration, patination, surface oxidation, dirt or deposits;

• damage caused by impact, accident, misuse, vandalism or abnormal environmental conditions;

• damage caused by scratching, scoring or alteration of protective surface treatments;

• damage caused by the application of silicone, cement, chemicals, coatings or other materials not approved by Harte Outdoor Lighting;

• damage resulting from improper installation, modification, repair or maintenance; or

• corrosion or deterioration resulting from circumstances outside the normal intended use of the product.

Changes in the appearance or finish of an outdoor product over time are not, by themselves, considered structural defects under this guarantee.

Making a claim

If you believe a product is covered by the Lifetime Structural Guarantee, please contact Harte Outdoor Lighting Limited with details of the product, the nature of the problem and, where reasonably available, photographs or other information that will help us assess the claim.

We may ask for the affected product or component to be returned to our workshop for inspection before determining the appropriate remedy.

Harte Outdoor Lighting Limited may inspect the product and, where reasonably necessary, obtain an appropriate technical or independent assessment to establish the nature and cause of the damage.

If a valid claim is confirmed under this Lifetime Structural Guarantee, Harte Outdoor Lighting Limited will, at its option, repair or replace the affected cast iron or steel component.

Unless required otherwise by applicable consumer law, this guarantee does not cover costs associated with removal, installation, reinstallation, access, scaffolding or other consequential works. Any arrangements concerning transport or carriage of a product for inspection will be confirmed with the customer as part of the claims process.

Replacement of an entire lighting product is not required where repair or replacement of the affected component provides an appropriate remedy under this guarantee.

Your statutory rights

This Lifetime Structural Guarantee is provided in addition to your statutory rights.

Nothing in this guarantee excludes, restricts or otherwise affects any rights or remedies you may have under applicable consumer law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2022.

Where your statutory rights provide a remedy or protection beyond the terms of this voluntary guarantee, your statutory rights will continue to apply.
